Bart Coppin was born on Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona. He and his family moved around the world following his father’s military assignments until coming to the Olympia area in 1993. Following graduation from Timberline High School in Lacey he attended both Washington State University and the University of Washington for his bachelor’s degree. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania Schools of Dental Medicine and Graduate Education. After earning his DMD and MSEd degrees, Dr. Coppin returned to the University of Washington to complete a 3 year residency program in Periodontics. At graduation he was awarded a certificate in Periodontics and a Masters Degree for research in immunology. He is now an affiliate clinical instructor at the UW School of Dentistry and teaches part-time. He also volunteers with the Thurston County Dental Access Network.
