Barton W. Coppin DMD, MSD

Barton W. Coppin DMD, MSD

Bart Coppin was born on Williams Air Force Base in Mesa, Arizona.  He and his family moved around the world following his father's military assignments until coming to the Olympia area in 1993.  Following graduation from Timberline High School in Lacey he attended both Washington State University and the University of Washington for his bachelor's degree.  He then attended the University of Pennsylvania Schools of Dental Medicine and Graduate Education.  After earning his DMD and MSEd. degrees, Dr. Coppin returned to the University of Washington to complete a 3 year residency program in Periodontics.  At graduation he was awarded a certificate in Periodontics and a Masters Degree for research in immunology.  He is now an affiliate clinical instructor at the UW School of Dentistry and teaches part-time.  He also volunteers with the Thurston County Dental Access Network.

Bart married his best friend, Leslie, in 2000 and they are thrilled to have 4 amazing kids.  He and his wife are actively involved in their church and local community.  Dr. Coppin's other interests outside of dentistry (and keeping up with his kids) are fishing, scuba diving, music, film, travel, and cooking.  He is also a die hard Seattle Seahawks and Mariners fan.

“I will spend time with you to talk about your oral health and the different treatment options available. I will work together with you and your dentist to decide on the care that will best restore your healthy smile. Most importantly you and I will develop a preventive program which will empower you to better avoid similar problems in the future. I look forward to meeting you and discussing any questions that you may have!”
